Claire is the most genuine, kind, honest, and positive person I know. As a new Charge RN, she has exceeded expectations and completes all tasks as if she has been a charge RN for years. In less than 2 months, Claire is able to identify the unit needs quickly and escalate throughput barriers efficiently. She is so dedicated to our patients and how she can help improve current processes that will have a positive impact on patient care, patient experience, and patient throughput. In addition to her current role as a Chairperson of our Unit Shared Governance/Morale Committee, Hand Hygiene Champion, she is always the first staff member to raise her hand to come in for a process flow meeting or any meeting that is organized to improve relationships amongst the entire interdisciplinary team.
This week we had a meeting with PACU to improve relationships and discuss current processes regarding patient throughput; Claire came to this meeting with talking points about important items to cover and presented her concerns professionally and was able to collaborate effectively to establish a cohesive relationship between units. Claire takes the time to celebrate her peers by writing up the most detailed and wonderful nominations for the amazing work they do each day. She gives ecards and awards each day she is here, and in the last few months and some of those nominations have resulted in two DAISY Honorees.
Claire not only goes above and beyond for her team but her patients as well. This week when she came on shift, her patient was not doing well and having significant neuro changes. When escalating her concerns for her patient, the physicians were not receptive, but Claire is the most dedicated patient advocate and would not give up on her patient, so she kept escalating until her patient was transferred to the ICU. Claire's perseverance and commitment to her patient helped ensure this patient did not have a delay in care and received the appropriate level of care so he could have the best chance at a positive outcome.
Claire radiates a joy that is undeniable. She takes a tremendous amount of pride in the quality of care she provides and helping her entire team be successful. She was recently selected into the High Potential Program because she is just as dedicated to her own professional growth as she is to her patient care. Claire deserves the highest recognition for incomparable work ethic she demonstrates every day without fail.
