Silvia Tribble earned a DAISY Award for helping a group at St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City learn from and cope with a recent pediatric cardiac arrest that ended in the death of a patient. Less than a week after the incident, a team from MU Health Care traveled to Jeff City and facilitated a training scenario.
"Silvia demonstrated an excellent example of teamwork and made it a collaborative approach," the nomination read. "This situation was very real for the St. Mary's team and I got the chance to stand back and watch as Silvia brought confidence back to them and let them know they were not alone in the grief they were experiencing. I am confident that her presence that day will benefit the next patient who comes through their doors. Silvia is helping change health care — not only in our hospital but with our referring hospitals as well."
