Alesia goes above and beyond with each patient she encounters. She pours her heart and soul into each and every case to the fullest extent. If her assignment changes the next day for whatever reason, you can bet Alesia will be in the room still taking care of the family and patient. She treats each person as if they were family and is not only an astounding nurse, but an exceptional person. Alesia always sees the other side of the story and gives the benefit of the doubt. She has an open mind, that over the last couple years of working with her has made me open my eyes to being a more empathetic nurse. If Florence Nightingale was alive today, she would be Alesia. I have an unlimited amount of stories of how Alesia goes above and beyond to take such good care of our patients, but on our unit, the real personal care is toward the family of the patient. The patients are often intubated and unable to speak and participate in care. She really talks to the family to navigate through feelings and find out more about the patient. When getting report, it feels like she is handing over care from one of her close friends or family members. I am rambling, but the point I am trying to make is that if we could all just be a little more like Alesia, the world would be a much better place. She inspires me and everyone she meets, to care more about people.
