Brian is an exceptional nurse! He wasn't even assigned to me, just would come in to help me with the most uplifting attitude. I have been admitted 3 times within 4 weeks, so I was very sad and truly needed his words of encouragement.
Brian even explained the process of digestion in layman's terms to me before and after a colectomy. He is so sympathetic and caring. He spent some time calming me down when they said I was to be tested for C-Diff while waiting for my ileus to clear up. He would just check in on me and have something supportive to say and give me a high-five. Brian got to know me as a person, taking an interest in my life, not just a patient to give meds to. He does this so naturally and makes you feel like you do have feelings and control when you feel like you are helpless and out of control. He is a great educator as well about my condition and makes you feel empowered by your condition.
