My son was a patient on Monday night and all-day Tuesday a few weeks ago in the Behavioral Health EC unit. The whole experience was scary. That unit is scary. His nurse, Brittany, talked very calmly to me, as well as my son. Brittany was open and honest, and as a mother to my 16-year-old son, she let me cry and answered every single question and concern I had. She did not rush me and was very upfront and honest with my son.
My son was transferred to Charleston, SC Tuesday evening right before 8 pm. Brittany made sure the facility in Charleston had my information and made sure I was to be notified when he arrived. She went out of her way, and above and beyond to get me all kinds of information on the facility, as well as the contact numbers and address. I wish I could adequately put into words what she means to our family. She clearly loves her job and was everything a nurse is supposed to be. For this particular unit, she is perfect! Her smile lights up the room and she made my son feel calm too. She literally went above and beyond her job description and I fully believe that is just her all the time. I have bragged about our nurse to everyone, and everyone that knows her says "that's just who she is!"
Brittany- you are a God-send. You are not just a "DAISY", you are a whole bouquet! I am so grateful to you and can never thank you enough.
