While sitting with a patient in the ICU I had the pleasure of watching Raylene Stiehl take excellent care of a patient who was very very ill. The patient was unable to communicate to her or family. This did not stop Raylene from talking to him. Every time that she walked into the room she would talk to him just like he was alert and talking back to her. When the family would leave again she would talk to him and tell him how lovely his wife was and how sweet and kind his children were and how he had so many people who loved him. It was so heartwarming to hear her. It was the kindest sweetest moment I have seen. I have had the pleasure of working with Raylene in the ER also and always felt that her nursing was amazing the way she cared for patients, but this was above and beyond. Hats off to such an excellent nurse.
