My brother was admitted for several days with very high blood sugar. He had to have a midline IV after several unsuccessful attempts in the ED (not their fault). We then found out that his liver enzymes were very high and that he could possibly be facing a liver transplant. He, of course, was devastated; and unfortunately; his fear manifested by anger towards family, friends, and staff. He would later apologize and feel bad for his actions.
Now enter Dallet. Dallet is an excellent, knowledgeable nurse with such compassion, respect, sense of humor, and a positive, professional demeanor. She was merciful and understanding of my brother's ups and downs with fear, tears, anger, anxiety, and pain, to name a few. She never reacted in a negative way, though it would have been understandable if she had. She responded instead with such kindness; she won his heart, and he would then listen first before reacting. Dallet was a patient advocate, while at the same time, respectful of the doctors' orders. She was also very humble; in fact, she admitted she needed "brushing up" on the meaning of one of his lab results. However, she investigated understanding the topic and was then able to explain it to my brother, thus alleviating that fear.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her as a DAISY Nurse! God bless you, Dallet; you are the example of obeying the golden rule by doing to my brother as you would have someone do unto you.
