I came into the hospital for a MUCH anticipated hip replacement! All was going well in preop as Michelle started my IV, gave me, my wife and friend instructions and explanations. When I was all ready for surgery I was given some medication, per my request, so that I could relax prior to going to the OR. For some reason, my body did not react well to it. From the moment the reaction started Michelle was on top of it. She contacted the doctor to get further orders and acted on them. I was horribly uncomfortable, but Michelle had gained my trust as well as that of my family, and we knew that I was in good hands as she did several things to get me back to "ME"! I was soon ready to go to the OR and, because Michelle kept us all calm and feeling at ease, we knew we were in good hands from there on out! Thank you, Michelle, for your quick thinking and compassion at a time that could easily have sent us 'over the edge' but didn't because of your actions and calming presence.
