As a parent, your worst fear is having to bring your child, my little boy, to the hospital. Considering that I too am a nurse, I understood the process that needed to take place in order for the hospital to find out what was wrong with my son. I met you, Emily, on the morning of his surgery and at that moment, I knew my son was going to be safe. You jumped into action with such care and knowledge for my son, as if he was your own. I am deeply grateful that I was able to have you care and watch over my son for two days in a row. You made sure that I, as the parent, was included in his care and you made sure that not only was he okay, but that I was okay during this difficult long stay. You explained every detail to me and to each new nurse who took care of my son. Making sure that his needs were your best interest. I am so grateful that you choose to be a nurse because people like you are one in a million. Your patience and extraordinary work exceed any other nurse that I have ever had in the past.
My son's life was in your hands and your patience with my toddler, even at his worst moments, showed me your true colors as a compassionate person in anything you put your mind to. Good luck to you in your future endeavors as an NP! You deserve the best!
