Lisa Dolvin is an exceptional nurse. She consistently goes above and beyond expectations to meet the needs of our patients. Lisa has been involved in various activities that have improved care to our patients. She has worked with Dr. B and the nursing staff in HemOnc to improve care of the patient that is receiving chemotherapy. Lisa has worked with various people to ensure that our care for the ventilator dependent child is appropriate. Lisa is a very strong patient advocate and will work to ensure that all patients and families receive the best care. She is a leader on our unit and is valued by the staff and families. Lisa has been instrumental in the development of our new pre-surgery clinic. Her commitment to Dayton Children's and overall commitment to excellence are evident each day that she comes to work. She is a true champion for our patients, their families and her team members!
Lisa is a great example of what a nurse should be here at Dayton Children's. She is always giving 110% to make sure our patients and their families are taken care of. She is innovative, creative, caring and compassionate about her job. She wants what is best for our patients and their families as well as Dayton Children's and her staff. She is a true asset to Surgical Services.
Lisa always goes above and beyond. She worked together with one of the Nurse Practitioners to start up a pre-surgery clinic. In doing this the department has seen decreased cancellation rates as well as income from these patients. She does not stop until she sees a project through to completion. She continuously shows a positive attitude and is a role model for all of the staff.
I wanted to tell you that I really appreciated your staff and their efforts with my son. There were several great staff members but in particular, Lisa Dolvin’s efforts were exceptional. My son felt very comfortable with her and she explained everything very well. I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate the pre-surgery clinic and staff. Lisa was professional, courteous, and caring. What more could a person ask for? I think the best thing that has happened for the patients and the hospital is the clinic. Thanks again!
Lisa is the ultimate nurse and change agent! She uses her talents in critical decision making, advocacy and professionalism to continually make improvements in Surgical Services not only for our customers but for our staff. She has endless energy and serves as a role model for many of us in the department. Lisa gives 150% to everything she does. She is most deserving of a DAISY Award.
I have had the opportunity to work with Lisa on an interdepartmental process. Throughout our many meetings Lisa has always remained focused on the opportunity to improve. She worked to understand our departments' process differences so we could come to a workable solution that met both departmental needs. She recognized an educational opportunity for her staff and helped to coordinate education sessions to ensure that her staff was using best practice standards. Throughout this process Lisa also showed great concern for our patients and their families to ensure that we were also meeting their needs. As with any process, there have been some bumps in the road but Lisa never hesitates to call and discuss what went wrong and how we can improve the process with the next visit. Working with Lisa has given me insight into how understanding our differences lead to successful interdepartmental collaboration. What a wonderful asset Lisa is to Dayton Children's!
