Carmen Lombardo was nominated by patients who felt her care went above and beyond. One nomination was from a patient's wife. Her husband was recovering from a quadruple bypass and had complications. Carmen was persistent in getting the care that her patient needed while offering support to both the patient and family. The wife writes "Even though they were giving him everything that was kidney safe and nothing was working. Well, she took excellent care of him and showed so much compassion and concern for the state he was in. I feel that she had got the job done because she cares!"

Another patient's family writes about Carmen, "She gave my dad extra care and attention after his brain surgery". She continues to describe that since her father was a transfer patient from another facility that Carmen arranged for her mother to get back to her car. The daughter continued to say "Whenever she was at work she would come into his room to say hello and check on him. She is wonderful and kind."
