My husband and I accompanied my 19-year-old son to CHOC Neuroscience Floor to be evaluated for relentless seizures. We came in frazzled and nervous. The very moment Christine walked in the room, before even saying one world, her pleasant demeanor had a calming effect. Once she began to speak to us, she always kept eye contact and genuinely held a conversation. She spoke slow, clear, and precise about caring for my son. It felt like we were her only patient, actually. Regardless if we spoke about vitals, medication, or comfort, she always made sure we had a mutual understanding. As we spent time together, we quickly saw she was confident and qualified to do her job as well. We could see that this young lady was an exceptional nurse with a compassionate side. Specifically, we had a disruptive roommate who needed to be removed from the room. She helped expedite and resolve the situation rapidly. She apologized for the 3 am disruption and explained how our comfort and safety were most important.
From the time my son was born, we have been to hospitals, doctor offices, and therapy offices. We have encountered many medical staff members in the last 19 years. Christine is one that stands out above and beyond, by far! She's an excellent example to her peers and staff she works with. Christine loves what she does and it's evident the moment you meet her. CHOC is fortunate to have her.
