My grandmother passed away in SICU. I feel like Ashley was super compassionate, extremely loving, thorough and a true angel to our family. We are very saddened with our loss, but so grateful for Ashley nonetheless.

I performed a major operation and everything had gone well. When Ashley came on shift the next morning, she quickly realized that something was very wrong with the patient. She called me right away and it was clear that something was wrong. We went right back to the operating room. The patient was critically ill and did not survive. The reason for this nomination is not just about her quick assessment of the problem but also the way she interacted with the family of the patient. She provided them with information and comfort. They spoke so highly of her and stated that she helped them through this very difficult time. She also helped me as I was also hurting. In fact, she sent me a message later that day that brought a smile to my face. She not only supported the patient and patient's family but also her fellow caregivers. She is the type of person I hope my 3 daughters turn out like.
