Ghazala Khan is a most excellent nurse who is admired and respected by her peers and who readily assumes the position of charge nurse on our unit. She fills this roll with the knowledge and forethought of what needs to be done on the unit, and done appropriately for our patients. She puts patients and their families' needs and issues first, addressing their concerns with the utmost importance. She speaks to her patients and their families in a language and verbiage that they can understand easily and she leaves the door open for them to ask any questions and concerns they may have. She empathizes with the families, understanding their pain, grief, loss and helps them to cope and face their future positively.
Families consistently express to her that they are so glad that she is taking care of their loved one and also that when they are not here, they have peace of mind knowing Ghazala is here. Ghazala is a true shining star on our unit, a pleasure to work with, learn from and strive to emulate.

Mama Ghazala is indispensable. She knows everything and did a fantastic job training our family to take care of our family member when he came home. Even after we left, when we had questions, we could still call and ask and Ghazala was always helpful. Also, I will miss the afternoon cup of coffee she used to make for me. To me, it meant that she truly cared.
