Raychel Miramontes was my nurse when I gave birth to my son. She was an excellent nurse, very compassionate and knowledgeable about her work. She made me feel comfortable and always kept me up to date on everything I needed to know. She identified right away problems we encountered and overall, it was a pleasure to have her as my nurse. She even stopped in the next day to see how we were doing, which showed me she cared, because she was not assigned to me again that day. Raychel sets a great example of what it means to be a "great nurse". Now I work here at UVMC and work with her patients several times a week. She always has a smile on her face and is always kind and polite to anyone that passes by. I always let her patients know that they are lucky to have her as a nurse, based on my own experience with her. She was great to have as a nurse, and she is just as great to have as a colleague. She really upholds the values of Premier Health on a daily bases, and you can tell she is passionate about what she does.

Raychel Miramontes is the type of nurse I hope to become one day. She is such an inspiration to me. She is always a team player. She picks up shifts every week even with 3 small kids at home. She is an amazing preceptor. She has a way of explaining things that are easy to understand. She makes you feel like you are never alone at the bedside. She helped train me in labor and in our special care nursery. I feel relief and safe when I know she is working with me. During the last few months of working her nights get very hectic and something interesting always happens. But Raychel always stays calm. She is great at delegating. She has been at many deliveries where she had to deliver the baby with us at her side waiting for the doctor to arrive. She does such an amazing job! She stays so calm and focused. I always tease her that she should be a midwife. Raychel is a nurse anyone would be lucky to work with. I am happy and honored that I can say I have! She truly deserves the DAISY Award!
