I wanted to let you know of recent happenings in the outpatient OB/GYN Clinic. Our nursing staff is relatively small, with only 13 RN's. Over the past three weeks, three of our RN's lost their fathers, and our nurse manager lost her husband. We have also been hit hard with illness and injuries- a stomach virus has run rampant through our nursing, nursing practitioner, and physician staff. We have no prn pool to pull from. Despite all of this, our nursing staff has pulled together and rolled with these punches, with everyone going above and beyond to make sure the patients are cared for and the work gets done. Today one of our nurses came in on her vacation day to help with staffing, and everyone has been extremely flexible with their hours, either coming in early, staying late, or both. The purpose of this letter is to really give kudos to this staff of professionals.
