This summer I had the VATS procedure on my lungs and Debra was my nurse for the evening immediately after my surgery and for the following evening.
I sincerely cannot adequately express how much Debra helped me get through those 2 evenings. In the recovery room, I was in a great amount of pain and Debra was constantly checking on me, and staying with me to bring me comfort. She went beyond just the professional care that is expected from a nurse in a hospital. Debra expressed genuine concern, and knew what to say and do to bring me personal comfort.
I was so thankful she was also my nurse the second evening. My pain was more controlled, and I could be more myself and get to know Debra a little better.
Debra has the expertise, personality, and innate qualities that cannot be learned through education or even experience. Debra has a special gift that she passes on to her patients.
