The wife of a patient called to say that the nurse, Natashia Neill, did a very good job of going over the discharge instructions with them and advised what to watch for and when they should be concerned. His wife said that after they discharged and reached the pharmacy, the prescription was not ready and the pharmacy said they could not get it until later the next morning. The patient's wife was concerned, as they had been instructed that her husband should not be without this prescription that evening. His wife called back to the 6th floor and was able to speak with Natashia who suggested trying another pharmacy and would then have it transferred. The patient's wife called Natashia back to confirm she was able to get the prescription at another pharmacy and said she could tell Natashia genuinely cared when she asked, "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
The patient's wife said she and her husband both really liked Natashia and felt she was a very good nurse who explained things well and kept them updated.
Kudos to Natashia for "Being the One" and making a difference to this patient and his wife!
