Laura was the day-shift ICU nurse during my recent stay at Holy Cross, for bypass surgery. She was very efficient in taking care of all my medical needs and administering my doctors' orders. From my perspective, nothing got left undone, she was the right nurse, to get the job done right. The way she treated me, as a person, not just a job, was her most remarkable skill. While carrying out her duties, she chatted with me, in the same manner as friends sharing a cup of coffee on the patio, about our families and our lives outside the present environment. She really made me feel "cared about," and not just cared for. After what I had just gone through, that's really what I needed.
Even with other hospitals closer to our home, Holy Cross is the hospital of preference for my family. My wife was hospitalized here, a few years back, our daughter had her most recent child here, and we always head to Holy Cross when an ER need arises. We may drive further and drive ourselves, but due to your efficiency and effectiveness, we have no doubt that we get better quality treatment, sooner than going to closer hospitals. Thanks for being here, it really does give us a great comfort and Laura is an asset to your hospital.
