What was to be an Outpatient procedure turned into an overnight stay because of complications. I was in a world of hurt when I began to regain conscientiousness in Recovery. I was being forced to lay flat on my back because of something to do with an incision in my ankle however because my pain medication for chronic back pain due to spinal stenosis had worn off, I was somewhat combative. Jennifer was so kind and understanding and was able to keep me calm. After getting into my room Jennifer locked her eyes with mine and without looking, straighten my gown and bed linens. This was a degree of dignity far and above what I expected. Once she had me settled in and asked if there was anything else she could do for me I expected her to go onto her next patient, but she didn't! She could see that I was hurting. I was laying on my side with my hands near my head when without saying anything to me, she took my hand gave it a little encouraging squeeze and then continued to hold my hand while at the same time staring into my eyes. Words cannot describe the comfort this gave me. That day she was the Master Salesperson. I have been in sales all my life and try to live by the mantra of; "The customer (patient) will never care how much you know until they know how much you care!" Jennifer was truly extraordinary that day!
