Tyler took care of my mother in the cardiac ICU for at least 3-4 days of her stay there. He took great care of my mom and is exceptional in his job. He went above and beyond not only to make sure we (her family) felt comfortable in a stressful and uncomfortable situation but he also took time to explain everything that was going in and was about to go on. My mom was only 68, in great health so we were all shocked to have her in the situation she was in. Tyler took the time to answer any questions (no matter how dumb they may have been) in language appropriate for us, not in the medical field. He was direct with us but always in a calm and appropriate way. Even in the chaotic environment of the cardiac ICU, Tyler was always calm. He always had a smile for us. He was fun to talk to and get to know. He really helped us get through some tough days.
Despite everything that all of the magnificent UW doctors did for my mom, it was not meant to be and we decided to remove her from her ventilator and transfer her to Palliative Care. Lucky for us, Tyler was there at the end and made that whole process very smooth for us. It was not meant to be for my mom to make it through this fight but it was meant to be for us to meet Tyler and learn that there truly are angels here on Earth. Thank you for everything Tyler!!
