Elizabeth works in our Same Day Care Unit and was nominated by one of her co-workers for her compassionate and non-judgmental care provided to a mother and patient while waiting in their unit's waiting room for a procedure to be completed in our Cardiopulmonary Unit. Elizabeth noted that an infant in the waiting room had only a diaper and blanket on, and that the mother was not carrying any supplies with her. She spoke with the mother who stated that she was out of diapers. Elizabeth proceeded to take up a collection and purchased needed supplies. She also noticed when escorting mother and baby to their car that the infant car seat was installed improperly, so she helped the mother properly install seat. After all was said and done, she was able to speak with the infant's pediatrician to make sure that follow up resources would be available.
