I am a disabled Veteran from Alabama. While in Panama City Beach, Florida, I contracted a stomach virus and went to the Panama City Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), as a walk-in. Seeing how sick I was, Ms. Bragiel took me from the waiting room to her office, where she examined me and immediately called a doctor.
Ms. Bragiel showed more care and compassion than I ever expected; she is truly a professional. While Ms. Bragiel was reviewing my records, she noticed that I had a coumadin appointment at the Birmingham VA the next day. She called the Birmingham coumadin clinic, explained that I was too sick to travel, and arranged for me to have labs drawn at the Panama City CBOC. During her lunch break, Ms. Bragiel escorted me to the lab and the pharmacy. The following day, she called to check on me and to give me my lab results. Seeing that my INR was high, she coordinated medication adjustments with my doctor in Birmingham.
I observed her share with all her patients the same respect and care that she shared with me. Ms. Bragiel thanks every Veteran for their service. Thank you, Ms. Bragiel, you are truly a special nurse and a special person!
