Throughout the course of this year, Josie Motes has been nominated for DAISY recognition on multiple occasions, by patients, families of patients and fellow healers. DAISY recognition is not simply about the "big moments", but about the consistent care given "always", every day. Josie exemplifies that consistent, "always" nurse. She brings "assurance" to our patients, their families and to her fellow healers all the time. She pays attention every day to the "details".

One of our Patients had been here 3 days with Abdominal Pain. She was a post partum mother. Our patient communicated to her primary nurse that she did not have a bowel movement since delivery. Her baby had been born 2 weeks prior. Laxative type medications had been prescribed.

The outcome of Josie's efforts, in partnership with the primary care nurse was that a hospitalist was called in to consult about the constipation. A KUB was ordered and the patient was found to have a small bowel obstruction. The patient was then able to receive the appropriate treatment for her condition and began to have relief and healing.

Josie consistently demonstrates excellent CLINICAL SKILLS and judgment related to the care of our patients. She delivers EXEMPLARY SERVICE, pursuing any avenue necessary to provide what our patients need. Her COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE is ever present and seamlessly delivered. She is a DAISY NURSE. She is an IU Health Nurse.

We also recognize Josie's TEAM, our AC5 Weekend TEAM. Each individual collaborates, supports, empowers and advocates for our patients and for each other. It is, in part this TEAM that allows JOSIE to be the NURSE she is.
