Last year my husband and I were blessed with our second daughter. While it was our second round of labor and delivery, it was our first experience having a child at PRHC. After having a postpartum hemorrhage with my first daughter I was a little nervous about labor and delivery the second time. The morning I arrived at the hospital in labor, Carrie was the first nurse to greet us, stay with us until the doctor arrived, assist during our daughter's delivery less than an hour later and care for us that first day. Carrie was incredibly supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable through the whole process. Our family could not have asked for a more compassionate nurse to be with us that day. Carrie clearly has a passion to serve families as they celebrate one of the greatest blessings in life.

We had our baby boy (our third child), Carrie was our nurse for his birth. We had also had her for our daughter's birth earlier. It was such a relief to see Carrie's face on the morning of our scheduled c-section. She prayed with us before we went into the operating room. Her calm and capable spirit was so well matched with her positive attitude. I took great comfort in knowing that Carrie would be in the OR, ready to attend to him as soon as he was born. It has been so fun to look back on the pictures of both children's birth and see nurse Carrie in action - checking vitals, washing them tenderly, and taking measurements. Admittedly, I asked some rather embarrassing questions and she never laughed at me. She was encouraging and tender in her care and we felt very blessed to have her as our nurse for two of our children.
