Joyce is an extraordinary nurse that always takes initiative to go the extra mile for our patients. One evening, Joyce was walking through the hospital on her day off and noticed a patient that was out of breath and struggling to walk. Joyce stopped the patient and asked them where they were going; she went and got a wheelchair and took it to the visitor. Then Joyce pushed the patient to registration and waited for her to get registered. After the patient was registered, Joyce transported the patient to the outpatient transfusion center where the patient could receive their transfusion. This is just one of the many examples of when Joyce has gone out or her way for a patient or family member. Joyce has a heart of gold even when she is not on duty; she always puts others before herself.
