My son was being transferred from St. Luke's South at 2:00 AM, after being taken there earlier in the evening for harming himself. My husband and I were in Denver, CO and immediately hit the road back to KC upon hearing about our son. Our oldest son was with him at St. Luke's South but his cell phone battery had died. I spoke with St. Luke's South personnel a few times. After not being able to reach our son I called them and was told to call back in 5 minutes to talk to his nurse. I tried calling back every 10 minutes for about the next hour and got no answer. Then I got a call from Phillip saying my son was being transferred to the Smithville location. I explained our situation and the fact I wasn't able to speak with either of our sons. Having never been through anything like this we were very upset and unsure. Phillip was very patient and understanding. He explained what he needed and assured me as soon as our call was finished he would have the nurse get a phone to our boys. After our calls dropped several times due to the fact we were in the middle of nowhere, we hung up and a few minutes later our oldest son was on the line. I can't tell you how grateful I was to get that call. Phillip also made sure our son called when he arrived in Smithville, again priceless. Phillip's professionalism and caring attitude that horrific night was so appreciated. Thank you, Phillip.
