Jennifer is an outstanding nurse. She is always advocating for her patients best interests. She is passionate about critical care and continually strives to advance her practice. Jennifer does not shy away from those difficult conversations; she knows that her patients and their families deserve allthe informationto make the best decisions about their care. It is difficult to pick just 1 interaction with her patients to write about because she goes above and beyond on a daily basis. She takes the most critical patient in the department and anticipates what is needed, efficiently intervening and helping them during their stay. Jennifer shares in the joys with her patients when improvements in their health occur andweepswith them in their times of sorrow. Her compassionate nature shows in everything she does. She is creative in her cares. At times, we have difficult patients that emotionally and mentally are unprepared for their medical issues. Jennifer adapts to find a way to connect with them by using adjunctive resources. She is a primary preceptor in her department and is training her peers to model her intuition and advocacy. She truly is an amazing nurse and the patients in the ICU are fortunate to have her. She also takes initiative to research new treatments and policies as they change.Jennifer isengaged in her department to ensure that they advance with the times and appropriately asks questions when new processes just don't seem right.
