My son is a paraplegic... The nursing staff gave him the most loving care. It was apparent that caring for a paraplegic was new to them, however they were eager to learn. He has a PICC line that has given us a lot of trouble. Brandy told us when she discharged him that she had just changed out the ends of the PICC line, but that if we had a problem when we got home to call her anytime day or night and if she wasn't at work she would come to our home and see if she could be of help. The Sunday after we got home I called her and even though it was Sunday and she had to come all the way in to town, she never hesitated and came right away. She would not take any compensation. She told us if it was her child she would want someone to help her and that is why she did it. I call that true devotion to the pledge to help others and she does it with a loving, caring spirit. She is one in a million. Never in all that we have experienced have we met up with a nurse of her caliber. We've had nurses call us at home but never had one come to the home.
