Tere Herzog, RN, was nominated for the DAISY Award by a former patient’s daughter who wrote:
Tere was the nurse in ICU most of the time my father was at St. Luke’s. Tere not only took extraordinary care of my father but she also took care of my mother. She always made sure my mother and I understood what the doctors were saying and what steps they were taking to try and help him. Tere also went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and anticipated items needed before we even asked. Tere was not the nurse in my father’s room the day he passed away but someone must have told her because after he passed she showed up in his room and comforted my mother.
In the two weeks that we were there you could tell that Tere really cares about her job and the families that she comes to know. We also found out that she sent her family on vacation without her so she could stay at work caring for my family. All I can say is WOW! Tere was amazing. Honestly everyone at St. Luke’s was very kind and caring to us, we Thank You.
