Last Summer I was admitted to Surgical Services (SS). It was not how I had planned to start my first day of vacation... I was really sick and some of the first 24 hours are a bit fuzzy, but I wanted to recognize the care I received from Linda Schuster. Linda was in my room with me the first 3 hours I was on the unit, leaving only to get supplies she needed to care for me. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated her compassionate and skilled care.
Even though the unit was full, I felt like I was the only patient she had. She patiently answered all of my questions, and provided the emotional support I needed to get me through the first few hours of my stay. There were times when she was very quiet and would just let me be, and other times she would ask questions about my family attempting to brighten my spirits.
I believe that God puts people where they need to be, and Linda was my angel that first night and got me through an extremely difficult time. She did more than expertly caring for my physical needs...she supported me emotionally, and helped get that healing process heading in the right direction.
Mercy is blessed to have Linda working here, I know I was blessed to have her care for me and will forever be in her debt! There are nurses who are disguised as angels, and Linda is definitely one of them!
