Beverly's good attitude and caring nature have quickly made her an asset to not only her team but to the Hershey Medical Center as a whole. Due to Beverly's Emergency Room background and good work ethic, she is never afraid to challenge herself with the patients transferred to the Express Admissions Unit (EAU). The patients come from many different areas within the hospital and the outpatient areas, including the Emergency Room, outpatient clinics, home, procedural rooms, the Infusion Room and Same Day Unit. Beverly has proven time and time again the she is very capable of caring for any patient no matter the diagnosis or service line. When Beverly needs to seek clarification for an order or needs to address and issue, she presents herself in a professional and confident manner. Beverly consistently works to enhance her clinical knowledge and to apply it to the daily work life.
In addition to her pursuit of knowledge, Beverly also works diligently to ensure high quality care and safety for the patient's she cares for in the EAU. Beverly was given the opportunity to be a preceptor to a new nurse. Beverly worked tirelessly to ensure that the new nurse was providing care that was consistent with the reputation she has built for the EAU. She provided real time feedback to the nurse and educated her as needed on deficits.
