Carrie Hawbaker cares for each patient with confidence, compassion, and empathy. She is full of knowledge - sharing it with new and experienced moms without hesitation. But to be more specific, there was a situation in which a young mother had been through quite a bit of abuse from her mother and stepfather.

Carrie was very involved in her care, education, and support. She was there for this young mother as she cried, as she laughed, and as she left the hospital smiling. When I went to clean the room, the mother had left a heartfelt note on the dry erase board for Carrie, thanking her for all that she had done for her and that she would never forget her. I am positive that because Carrie lifted her up the moment she arrived on the unit, until the moment she left, this young mother that had been through so much will succeed in all she does.

Beyond patient care, Carrie is also compassionate towards her coworkers. She is always willing to lend a helping hand even if the task is "below" her scope of practice. When the unit is busy, you can always count on her to deliver world class patient care, as well as supporting her fellow nurses and PCT's. She is simply a well-rounded, world class nurse.
