Joe Ammerman showed professionalism, poise and compassion when dealing with an extremely difficult patient last week. For 4 consecutive days, Joe was assigned to a very sick patient with a recurrent medical condition that spontaneously required immediate medical attention. On numerous occasions, Joe was forced to drop what he doing and perform lengthy and sometimes labor intensive nursing interventions on this patient. At no time did he appear frustrated with his assignment. To complicate matters, the patient was not always kind or respectful to Joe. Despite this, he continued to remain calm and patient when dealing with this individual. It was evident through this situation that Joe Ammerman's motivation was to provide optimal patient care, no matter what.
