Kelly has been working with S, a patient in ICU for 6 plus weeks. She has helped the patient rebound from multiple OR trips, CVVH, sepsis and complicated wound care. She has been compassionate with S and her family. She keeps them up to date and has built trust. She brings a newspaper in daily. She takes S in a caddy chair out of the ICU to see other parts of the hospital and to help prevent ICU psychosis and to try to lift her spirits. She encourages S to be active in her rehab and care. She has become close with S’s family and has helped them heal in an extremely difficult time. Kelly provides excellent emotional and physical care. She is committed to excellent care. She is a strong patient advocate and strong team player, helping out when ever needed.

I would like Kelly to be recognized with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care. She is compassionate in her care and is an excellent role model. She has impacted many patients and families through her 11 years at Froedtert Hospital.
