Role Models Extraordinary Behavior:
Steeping up when we had the COVID-19 crisis. Showing compassion and understanding to patients, employees, and visitors during challenging times. Going above and beyond when given a task. Being humble and flexible when given extra roles and responsibilities. Maliah has served at the Command Center during COVID-19 crisis. She has supported the hospital with needed staff coverage and the redeployment of staff throughout the hospital's daily operations.
Creates an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported:
Training employees on different nursing levels how to screen and be shared at other departments. Maliah went above and beyond to make sure every screener was comfortable and safe. Maliah has demonstrated respect and trust with all the staff in the hospital. She is always ethical in her behavior.
Motivates staff with a shared vision and enthusiasm to achieve better outcomes for themselves and for their patients:
Maliah was part of the incident command team and was always positive, trusting, quick to problem solve, and willing to step up to the challenge when facing screening, redeployment, quality, and CDC guidelines issues. She is very supportive of all her co-workers. She has made sure the Community bus was functional and fueled up with diesel several times for the Lab staff to use the generator while setting up at the COVID-19 testing site in the parking lot.
Promotes and enhances the image of nursing within the organization, the community, and the profession:
Maliah has always dressed professionally and represented the nursing department with the respect it deserves taking care of the sick and COVID patients.
Additional Comments: Maliah has met all the requests of the command center during the crisis and kept up with all the vaccination temperature logs due to the State in a timely manner. She has made sure all mechanical issues were repaired during this downtime to keep the bus functional as the testing staging area for the hospital. A great leader and someone I truly look up to.
