I would like to recognize Kristi Creel, one of your PACU nurses, for her outstanding care and bedside manner during my recent surgical procedure at UVA Culpeper Medical Center. She is not only an exemplary nurse, but Kristi has a sunshine personality that makes even having surgery a positive and less troubling experience. Her care for me as I came out of my surgery was wonderful, she not only competently took control of my post-op care but also made sure all of my questions were answered and that I was altogether comfortable both physically and emotionally. I'm sure you recognize, in her, the same qualities and attributes that I did while in her care. As I said before, she has a ray of light personality and while her easy approach to caring is of great comfort, she exhibits professionalism in her nursing skills that lends to that "safe feeling" needed after surgery. I could tell while in her care, she takes great pride in the care, attention, comfort, and personal touch she gives to her patients. Mind you, it was late when my procedure was finished, but I never once felt rushed or as though I needed to hurry through my recovery, although it was late in the evening and time for her and the other nurses to go home. Kristi's care was consistent throughout and my best interest seemed to be her only and predominant concern.
Being a trauma tech in the medical field for 13 years, I know good nurses and people when I see them, Kristi is a model of that sentiment. Please, I only ask you to make it a point to let Kristi know how grateful I am, this has been a long journey for me and was hopefully the start of my re-emergence. Take a moment to recognize and thank Kristi for providing such quality care and the personal, heartfelt attention she gave to me, all the way to my car. She made sure I was safe, comfortable, and at ease before I was on my way home. Kristi is one of the best you have and I am so very grateful for her efforts and kindness to me.
