Monica arrived in my daughter's room displaying clear concern for her well-being, as well as determination to serve her as best as possible. She advocated on my daughter's behalf to maximize her comfort & tolerance of the medical procedures required. She recognized my needs for comfort and support as a parent of a very young child during a 6 day hospital stay. She was courageous and determined to convince the doctor to change medication due to my daughter's repeated intolerance, after the first nurse I asked to do so did not and the doctor did not want to make the change. After sticking with her intentions to serve my daughter as best as she could, she ended up convincing the doctor. The change was a success. Her experience with children and their range of tolerance of treatments and medications have proven correct to relieve my daughter's discomfort more effectively. I was inspired by her determination and confidence to stand up for what she knew was right and I aspire to act similarly. She is a real leader.
