I was a patient being monitored at 29 weeks of pregnancy with twins awaiting to see Maternal Fetal Medicine the day Tammy was my RN. She took me over to my appointment. At this appointment, I had received disappointing news about one of the twins and when Tammy came to pick me up from my appointment, I was beside myself and very tearful. I was told by the physicians that I would be transferred to a high risk pregnancy hospital for more observation. I shared all of this with Tammy. She was very calm and patient with me as she pushed me back through the lobby to the Family Birthplace. She was whispering to me that everything was going to work out, also that the nurses at that hospital were exceptional and they were about to handle my situation with my twins. She assured me that the nurses would take excellent care of me. Once we got back to my room, she listened to my concerns about my babies as I was emotionally crying and then she began to cry and came over to give me a hug. She offered to sit with me until my husband arrived and SHE DID!
Tammy delivered excellent care to me that day not because I was an SSM employee but because she lives the mission of SSM through her exceptional patient care. She is someone that I would never forget and I am overjoyed that she cared for me in my time of uncertainty.
