I was a patient at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center from 1 - 8 January. I underwent surgery on both the 2nd and 3rd of January for severe cholecystitis, and subsequently roomed on the 3rd floor surgery ward. During my stay on that ward, I received outstanding care from nurses throughout the day and night. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and incredible compassion without doubt added to my recovery.
I want to identify the nurse that made all the difference for my stay. Nurse Kathy Stephan was outstanding in her concern and care for me. Throughout my stay, my wife and I were instructed by Nurse Stephan on both the medicine I received and on the actions/care I required when leaving the hospital.
An observation: It was very apparent that Nurse Stephan was a "senior" nurse with years of experience and I was very impressed by the way she mentored Nurse B. It was clear that Nurse Stephan was in every way an outstanding role model for the other nurses on the ward.
