Sherry was nominated by an inpatient who was diagnosed with cancer during her pregnancy. In her nomination, she wrote:
I was admitted, frightened, with a diagnosis of lymphoma, and 23 weeks pregnant. Chemotherapy started right away, and Sherry, along with amazing pharmacists and the high-risk MD OB, have been instrumental in addressing my concerns regarding pregnancy and chemotherapy. Sherry was just an incredible nurse. She was like a mother and I felt as if I was her only patient because she did her job so well and thoroughly. Sherry communicated very well with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and CNAs to make sure I got the highest level of care. Sherry made sure my Ins and Outs were correctly reconciled (instrumental to make sure I was well hydrated for chemo elimination), chemotherapy bags were on schedule, my family and visitors were well taken care of, and just made the atmosphere of being in the hospital relaxing.
Please give Sherry the honor she well deserves of the DAISY award and keep her as long as you can as your nurse! All of the nurses who took care of me during my admissions for treatment were wonderful. You truly have the best of the best. I always look forward for my chemo treatments! Thank you!
