Missy is the manager in the Neuro/Trauma ICU and has made tremendous improvements on the unit. She came into the role during a difficult time and accepted the challenge without hesitation. She is an inspiration to both seasoned and new staff. She constantly has a smile and is always willing to help anyone in need. She lives the Bryan core values every single day. She does a fantastic job of 'Know the Way, Show the Way'.
When walking into the unit, you can sense the positive staff morale, which I think the entire staff on the unit would attribute to Missy and the work she has put into making our unit a great place to work.
Missy's commitment to patients, families, and co-workers is unparalleled. As a leader, she consistently leads by example in her positive attitude, value of teamwork, obligation to professionalism and dedication to excellent patient care. She is forever encouraging and facilitating individual nurses to pursue committee work, continued education, certification and other avenues of professional development, for us to be the best version of ourselves.
There is something to be said about a person who you can tell loves their job and their staff just by the way they behave in their leadership roles.
Missy expects excellent care and accountability from her staff and herself. I believe one of the key roles of a manager is to help their employees grow into better nurses. I can say with absolute certainty that I have grown more as a nurse, leader, and person under Missy's management than any other manager or leader.
Bryan is lucky to have such a great person in this leadership role.
