My husband has been under the care of an oncologist for the past few years for prostate cancer. In 2012, he was placed on chemo and that was our first encounter with Barb. We walked into the treatment center in River Forest, on that first day, with great trepidation.
Barb immediately put my husband, my daughter, and me at ease. She was so welcoming and friendly that all of a sudden the place we feared became a place of warmth. Before he started treatment, she explained everything to us.
As the years of various treatments have gone by we have gotten to know Barb much better. She was so nice to whoever accompanies my husband. Children, grandchildren, and daughter-in-law have all benefitted from her kindness.
Most important, though, is that there is never any doubt that she is a true professional in every way. When Barb is your nurse you feel you are getting the very best care possible. It can't be easy to do what she does every day, but she is always warm, friendly, and excellent at her job. What a wonderful description for a nurse!
