I would like to recognize a very special group of nurses who worked together to advocate for a patient and her newborn. Their efforts kept this couplet from being separated after discharge. The Women's Services Team used their collective resources to find appropriate placement to keep them from being separated and even went so far as to volunteer their own homes as temporary shelters for this couplet.
Working with families every day is very rewarding but can also be challenging and hard work. These nurses step up to the plate daily to facilitate family bonding and best practices of newborn care. However, on this day they went above and beyond and worked as a team to do what was right for a new family and as a result the integrity of the family was preserved. Well Done!
Team Award Honorees:
Paula Griffith RNC-OB, BSN Unit Manager
Raven Piontek RN, BSN
Jenifer Brown RNC-OB, BSN
Hannah Wells, RN
Ashley McGoohan RN, BSN
