My brother was admitted to CCU and Michele was his admitting nurse. She was in his room as if she didn't have another patient. She took the time to explain things until I fully understood the extent of his diagnoses. Michele basically told it "like it is" and it's what I needed to make confident competent decisions about his care. She always seemed to be one step ahead of the doctors. Not only is she a caring health care provider, she is a superb educator. I had a million and one questions and she professionally answered all of them! I was never a bother to Michele and she made the time for me and was committed to not only his care, but my wellbeing. I admire and respect her, not only as a professional nurse, but a compassionate caring person.
My brother had multiple diagnoses and she was confident in the management and care of each and every malfunction. When he had to have emergency surgery on Christmas Eve, she was reassuring, compassionate, empathetic, and even sat with my father in the waiting room for a bit to comfort him. When she had to gently push my brother to his full capacity, she had him sitting up and dangling his feet! She is our hero in literally nursing my brother back to health!
Quite honestly, I don't know what any of us would have done without her true kind-heartedness, honesty, and understanding of what we were going thru. It felt as though she was going thru it too! My brother can't wait for the day when he gains his strength to walk to CCU and personally thank everyone who was dedicated to his care. I feel Michele is a role model and a true asset to this organization. Not only did she teach me clinically, but also professionally gave me a "refresher" on how to treat my "customers" with respect and empathy.
