Dalton Gill was our nurse while my mother was in the hospital. The doctor wanted to check my mother's ability to swallow. Dalton tried with ice chips and that slowly went well; then he tried to spoon water into her lips, that wasn't comfortable for my mother. Dalton asked what consistency issues she was having and I told him. He brought her some nectars and she took those well, and the doctor allowed her to start eating.
My mother is unable to speak clearly after her stroke. When Dalton would ask her questions, he'd stop and bend towards her to hear her response. He did not get frustrated with my mother and was patient with her. Dalton had such integrity when delivering care. Each time he came in to speak to us, he would close the door to maintain our privacy or if he was changing my mother, he would close the blinds. I never had to say a word, he was a step ahead of me every time.
My mother is bedridden, and Dalton never once made me feel foolish for trying to care for her. He gave my mother encouraging and supportive words. I was completely impressed and put at ease with Dalton. He is an excellent nurse, a compassionate human being, and gave my mother excellent care. Dalton is like a basket of daisies all wrapped up in one person. We loved having him as our nurse.
