Desiree was a nurse in Acute and OB and served as shift leader. She started working in Quality Management in January and is now serving as the Case Manager. Desiree's desire to work with patients and their families is evident through her caring and "going the extra mile" to ensure patients have what they need to succeed at home.
Desiree has taken over multi-disciplinary rounding and has really made a difference in how well they run to ensure every patient's needs are addressed. She works diligently with all departments to make sure patients and their families have the most current information regarding their care, goals, and discharge plan.
Desiree embodies what a DAISY Nurse is through her compassionate care, hands-on approach, and willingness to do what is necessary for patients to succeed. She will retrieve needed patient equipment from the loan closet, she works with physicians to make sure patients' needs are met, andshe assists as a Lactation Consultant in OB in addition to her daily tasks. Desiree realizes that it is the small things that make all the difference in the world. She continuously gives of herself for the betterment of the patients, families, and staff.
