Gibbie [Melanie] was in charge of my daughter's nighttime care. My daughter is not one to complain even when she is and has been in pain for hours.
Gibbie watched her response to questions about her level of pain and even though she was trying to be strong she noticed the tears in her eyes proving there was still more pain than what was being treated. She went to bat for my daughter and talked to the doctor at nearly midnight to change her medication to something that would work to comfort her and allow her to rest.
After her surgery, the next night Gibbie once again took the time to make sure that my daughter was well taken care of and I feel treated her like her own child. As a mother, I appreciated the time and effort with which this particular caregiver was involved with my daughter and her care before and after her surgery.
Gibbie is an extraordinary nurse. She was able to use her knowledge and skill to put us at ease and help us through a difficult time and make it a smooth road in what could have been a much rougher ride.
