My mother was recently a patient at Bronson's North Pavilion, on the third floor for a return visit after hip surgery. She developed an ulcerated esophagus and was under Kristen's excellent care, as well as many others on her nursing team. Kristen did her best to make mom as comfortable as possible by checking in on her after administering necessary medications and just stopping in to check on her without being asked. She always showed a cheerful and helping disposition. Kristen did her best to be sure mom was comfortable by ordering an adjustable air mattress for her, and when mom could not tolerate a simple x-ray, Kristen went out of her way to schedule her x-ray at the same time mom would be sedated for a scope of her esophagus. Kristen works well with her nursing care team, was always willing to explain things we didn't understand and made a lasting impression on my mom with her genuine caring and concern for her well-being. I think if they had met under different circumstances, they would have struck up a wonderful friendship. We would like to Thank a Nurse by nominating her for The DAISY award.
