My Mom was moved to the CVICU with a severe heart issue. Noel was the first nurse that we encountered. She immediately made us feel at ease and exuded confidence in her job which allowed us to have comfort when we left for the night. Then my mom took a turn for the worse and was placed on an ECMO machine. I was so thankful Noel was her evening nurse again.
When I walked in we both looked at each other in disbelief as we had both been laughing with my mom the night before. She gave me a big hug. She showed such genuine concern for my mom and the situation we as a family were facing. I asked if she was working again on Sunday night and she said she was scheduled off but she was going to have that changed so she could continue to provide care for my mom. I can't even describe how thankful we all were for her care and concern for our mom.
Thankfully my mom had a successful valve replacement and is recovering. Noel took the time before her shift to come to see my mom in the stepdown unit. She is such a wonderful person and incredible nurse; she provided extraordinary care for my mom.
